​The vision for Lionheart Championship Wrestling did not begin with a company name—it began in the heart of founder Brandon Groom.

As a young Christian entering professional wrestling in 1998, Brandon believed wrestling could be more than entertainment. He saw it as a powerful way to connect with people, share biblical truths, and present the Gospel in a way that audiences of all ages could understand and remember.

In 2003, Brandon organized his first ministry wrestling event in his hometown of Bristow, Oklahoma. The show combined exciting professional wrestling with biblical lessons, testimonies, and clear ministry moments woven throughout the event. It marked the beginning of a mission that would continue to grow over the years.

While pursuing his professional wrestling career across the country, Brandon continued promoting and participating in ministry wrestling events whenever opportunities arose. Although it was never a full-time ministry during those early years, the vision never left his heart.

Beginning in 2012, Brandon started promoting monthly wrestling events at Body Progression Gym in Bristow, Oklahoma, under the name Body Progression Wrestling. These events brought exciting live professional wrestling to a community that rarely had the opportunity to experience it. While the shows were designed to entertain families and wrestling fans, they also included positive values, encouragement, prayer, and ministry elements that reflected the deeper purpose behind the promotion.

In 2016, Brandon was mentoring a small group of young wrestlers between the ages of 14 and 17 through his Christian wrestling program. One of those students, Daniel "The Lion" Rose, became known for his incredible determination, unwavering faith, and relentless effort despite living with a serious heart condition. Daniel's life left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him, and after his passing, the promotion began holding an annual tribute event in his honor—a tradition that continues today.

Daniel's legacy would eventually inspire more than an annual event. His courage, faith, and heart became the inspiration behind the name Lionheart Championship Wrestling, representing the kind of bold, faithful life that the ministry strives to encourage in every person it reaches.

For several years, Lionheart Championship Wrestling continued presenting events throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas. While ministry remained an important part of every show, the organization had not yet become a full-time evangelistic ministry.

Then, in 2026, Brandon felt God making it unmistakably clear that the time had come.

After decades of preparation through wrestling, ministry, youth leadership, business ownership, and event promotion, the vision that had been growing since 1998 was ready to become its own dedicated outreach. Brandon realized that professional wrestling—the very thing God had used to help him overcome struggles with self-confidence, athletic coordination, weight, and purpose as a young man—could now become a vehicle to help others discover hope, purpose, and ultimately a relationship with Jesus Christ.

With that calling, Lionheart Championship Wrestling officially became a full-time ministry.

The ministry launched its first full season in 2026 with four outreach events and continues building partnerships with churches, schools, businesses, and communities that share the desire to reach people in creative and impactful ways.

As we look toward 2027, 2028, 2029, and beyond, our prayer is simple: to continue growing carefully, faithfully, and with the right partners so that together we can fulfill Christ's command to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19)—one community, one family, and one life at a time.
